Also I read on how to prepare for a power point presentation. There are different techniques that are used in presenting a power point, but also there are ways that you would want to get your audience attention.

I will first get an early start so I want get behind. I plan on reading a lot in which this is something I have always overlooked. Secondly, PROCRASTINATION would be something I have experienced throughout my scholastic experience but I am learning to overcome it.My leaning styles on how it shown me that their are some different types of learning styles.

According to the learning style quiz I would have to say I'm a Kinesthetic learner.

1. Reading to understand, take good notes. This is something I have learn to do more often than ever, due to I will always start on reading something and never completed it.
2. Make sure I highlight the important facts throughout the chapter of what has been read.

3. Test myself base on the notes that I've taken. And if needed read twice to get a better understanding.
S-RUN-R-

S-Run-R reading system is a proven system for complete study habits. The S-Run-R reading/study s system outlines the specific methods of studying. The ‘S’ stands for survey, which is the first step in familiarizing yourself with the assignment. During this stage one does a quick overview with a keen attention to keywords and phrases. This is beneficial in which this stage  is a great way to introduce yourself to the assignment even when you are unfamiliar with the work. The ‘R’ and ‘U’ run concurrently because as a person reads the assignment they would underline and put emphasis on important information. This portion phase is useful because when going back over the lesson you can easily locate the highlighted information. The ‘N’ which stands for note-taking is the easiest task when you have properly highlighted important sections of the reading. Taking notes can be just simple phrases that maintain the meaning of the text.  The final ‘R’ is for review, in which this final portion reinforces what you have learned. This is a great method in studying essentially, because it places major emphasis on learning the material.

Creating Goals:
The seven characteristics of goals should be self chosen, moderately challenging, realistic, measurable, specific, finite and positive. The first goal is to be self-chosen, which means that your goals are set by you with no other influences, such as parents, friends, or family. It is best for a person to determine their goals for themselves and decide whether or not that their goals are good for them. The second characteristic of goals is to be moderately challenging. This means that a goal must possess some type of challenging aspect to it in order for you to have some sense of satisfaction. For example, if you weren’t good in math in high school, you could be good in math in high school by applying and challenging yourself more than you did before. Challenging yourself will make you feel motivated and you can accomplish anything you face. The third characteristic of goals is to be realistic. The fourth characteristic of goals is that your goals should be measurable. Measuring your goals would give you a great assessment of when your goals will be accomplished or completed. The fifth characteristic of goals is to be specific within your goals. For example, a student wants to earn an A or a B in their Environmental Biology class. The student is specifically determined of what they want to earn out of the class. The sixth characteristic of goals is to be finite. As a student, it’s important to set a specific time in which you want to complete your goals. If you have assignments due on a particular day, it’s important to submit on time than to do them later and end up submitting them late. Completing your goals at a specific time will also prevent you from procrastinating. Last but not least, the seventh characteristic of goals is to be positive. As a student, it’s important to have a positive mindset on what you want to achieve. Being positive in yourself will help you become successful down the long road. Also being positive will motivate you even more and build up your confidence n yourself. You have to always say you will do your best in everything you start.
The five steps to writing effective goals are to write down what you want to accomplish, write down any obstacles, write down any resources available to you, review and revise your tentative goal statement, and polish your goal statement. The first step is set a goal that you want to accomplish. The second step is to write down your obstacles. You would write down what prevents you from accomplishing your goals or the difficulties you have from achieving your goals. The third step is to write down any resources available to you. Basically, you write down resources that can help you overcome your obstacles and what can help you achieve your goals. The fourth step is to review and revise your goal statement. This step helps you write down your revised goal after you have figured out what the problems and solutions were to reaching your goal. The last and final step to writing effective goals is to polish your goal statement. You are just making sure your goal statement is written the way you want to have it accomplished.
Literature Search:
Using key words to possess an effective literature search is essential to garnish the correct results in order to effectively complete an assignment. When using key words in an effective literature search one can possess all of the needed tools to encompass an efficient assignment that will be 100% correct. The key words should be used in an effective literature search should always be the primary words that the assignment or research consists of, so that the search will generate accurate results that one would use to complete an assignment. An Effective literature search is primary in assuring that one can access the necessary information needed to assure that the work contains all of the useful and thorough information that will make an assignment correct.

Week 6

Week 6 Learning APA citations, the different format has taught me that there are different formats for journal, texts and references. Also I have learned how to navigate through the database of Galileo. I choose as my research Online Education in which I found several journals as well as texts. I also learned how to use a  guide to help me when researching of what direction I will start.  The Looney Tune  Visits Microsoft 2007 I thought was very interesting it has taught me as well on the making correction with the different citations as well as the article.

On the Insert tab, the galleries include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your document. You can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, list cover pages, and other document building blocks (Fudd, 2009). When you create pictures, charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current document look. You can easily change the formatting of selected text in the document text by choosing a look for the selected text from the Quick Style gallery on the Home tab. Buggs(2009) stated “You can also format text directly by using the other controls on the Home tab. “(2009, P. 14-15).
Most controls offer a choice of using the look from the current theme or using a format that you specify directly. To change the overall look of your document, choose new Theme elements on the Page Layout tab. To change the looks available in the Quick Style gallery, use the Change Current Quick Style Set command (Fudd & Buggs, 2009). Both the Themes gallery and the Quick Styles gallery provide reset commands so that you can always restore the look of your document to the original contained in your current template. On the Insert tab, the galleries include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your document.
However, Coyote, W, E., (2009) found that you can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, lists, cover pages, and other document building blocks. When you create pictures charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current document look. You can easily change the formatting of selected text in the document text from the Quick Style gallery on the Home tab. You can also format text directly by using the other controls on the Home tab. Most controls offer a choice of using the look from the current theme or using a format that you specify directly.

Week 5

In chapter 10, Preparing for Exams, I learned how to gather information before I study, such as knowing the level of questions that may be asked on the exam. I have also learned how to study by using the 5-day study plan. Recently, I have used the preparation and review strategy for preparing for an exam. For preparation strategies, I would make self-tests, make word cards, and take notes. For review strategies, I would take self-tests, recite out loud, and do "missed" problems. I have used study strategies, such as highlighting main points in a chapter. At the end, I would evaluate my preparation for an exam by doing a final review of my notes and the strategies I did.
In chapter 11, Taking Objectives Exams, I learned how to reduce test anxiety, use general test-taking strategies, use specific test-taking strategies, and learn from exams. As a student,  I have experience test anxiety because I think about the wrong possibilities, such as failing the exam. However, I learned how to cope with test anxiety by taking my time and taking deep breaths. Also, I learned how to not over think a question. I learned how to use general test-taking strategies, such as following directions, which is very important while taking an exam. I also know how to work systematically through the exam by answering the easy questions first and the hard questions last. Specific test taking strategies pertains to multiple choice, true or false, and math tests. I learned from exams by reviewing over the questions I answered wrong and knowing what to do differently on the next exam.
In chapter 12, Taking Essay Exams, I learned how to prepare for an essay asking the question, gathering information to answer the question, and organizing information. Also, I have learned to read directions before getting started on essay, therefore, I have some understanding on what I'm writing about. It's easy for me to organize my ideas before writing by creating an outline or web diagram. After organizing, I began to start my essay using transitional words and making sure I've supported the main points. In college, I know I'm being graded on the five factors, which are content, organization, format, mechanics, and neatness. These are the factors that will determine my grade on the essay.

Week 2

Working with Documents in Word 2007, yes this was a very familiar study for me in this chapter. I've  also learned different function in this chapter. This was something that I knew, but there is always opportunities for me to learn more about creating a word document.

Week 3

In week 3 I've  learned how a textbook should be read and basically how to comprehend  what I've read. This is very important due to reading thirty pages or more may not be that easy to comprehend but, I've learned how to split the pages in ways its easier to remember, taking notes also helps as well. Also reading on the S-Run-R Reading/Study System taught me how outline specific methods of studying.
